We are a women's percussion ensemble that creates joyful noise and positive, healing vibrations wherever and whenever we perform. Under the artistic direction of Sue Landers and in consultation with Master drummer Issa Coulibaly, we drum, sing, dance and tell stories that create a memorable experience for our audiences.
"truly sensational" James F. David
"Thank you for such a magical evening. You take your listeners on a beautiful journey to West Africa." Joan Kapp
"The Drumma Queens rhythms add such life force to everything" Jane Lowey
"Everyone in the audience left {the performance} with a smile on their face" Shawn Dahlstrom
The Drumma Queens grew from a year-long drumming journey taken by members of the women's chorus, Common Voices in the Fall of 2012. From that year long experience, the nucleus of the Drumma Queens was formed. The two groups maintain a strong sisterly connection, collaborating regularly on concerts.
The Drumma Queens perform at community events like the annual Harwich Stroll, the Orleans Fourth of July parade, and the Yarmouth Summer Concert Series. We have performed at the Cape Cod Cultural Center and at fundraising events for the Lower Cape Outreach Council, the Dennis Conservation Trust and the International Music Festival hosted by Independence House. We are happy to play at all sorts of special occasions.
In 2025, the Drumma Queens performed at community events such as the annual Harwichport Stroll, the Lower Cape Pride Parade, Cape Cod Women's Music Festival at Payomet, First Night Chatham, fundraising events, weddings, birthday parties and other special occasions.
